Experience "The Power of Neutral"

with Kevin Linehan

Since snow has already fallen, it's time to make sure your snow gear is up and running properly - this includes your boots (cycling shoes, running shoes, snow boots anything that connects to your feet for that matter)! After all, your boots are your steering - would you drive your car if the steering wheel didn't work? Skiing with improperly fitting boots is almost as bad!

SureFoot's Santa Monica General Manager Kevin Linehan will discuss the finer points of ensuring your ski boots are working hard for you. Properly functioning boots help you enjoy skiing longer and more comfortably. So - let's take some time to go into Surefoot and get our learn on!

To the uninitiated, Surefoot is the preeminent ski boot and orthotics maker in the world. They have an established presence in places like: Park City, Vail, Aspen, Courchevel, Mammoth Mountain and other places you'd want to get your snow on.

Kevin's discussion and tour of his facility will be interesting, informative and relevant to the outdoor enthusiast. The event is free and even if you don't ski or snowboard you should join us. (To read more about Surefoot click Click Here. Kevin contributes regularly to SCOA. You can find his blog Click Here .

Afterwords, we are going to head across the street to South for some distilled beverage enjoyment. There is nothing like wrapping up the day with a cool beverage in hand and talking about adventure.

The Event is open to everyone. All that we ask is for you to RSVP for you and your 'kreu'.

Note: While the thrust of the conversation will be centered on skiing, the over all message is applicable to every activity requiring shoes or boots! Wearing orthotics has made my mountain biking and hiking experiences more enjoyable and comfortable. Kevin will show us why.

Michael - it is fine that you don't need new boots. This - like the REI Class - is an opportunity to learn and to get out of the house on a Wednesday night. A lot of people don't know about about the importance of a properly fitting boot.

Kevin and Tim's insight into the positioning of the foot in the boot was extremely informative. Being able to see how the othotic is created and the foam molded around the foot was an ahha moment for me. No wonder the World Cup skiers can do what they do! The South was cool too although the NY won - damb it!
