Water Skiing/ Wakeboarding Summer Kickoff

Waterski Kick off at Lake Webb

Buena Vista Recreational Park

Summer has started, the weather's getting hotter, the days are getting longer and it's time to take advantage of that beautiful sunshine by splashing into a refreshing lake
This is a whole day activity for people who have had any experience with waterskiing and Wakeboarding

The plan is simple:

  • We meet at the lake at 8am and ski/ wakeboard until sunset.
  • We will have a site set up in the day camping area where SCOA adventurers get to hang out by the lake while waiting for their turn.
this campsite is open to all, so feel free to bring along a friend or the family to come hang out with you on the shore (non-skiiers/boarders will not be permitted on the boat)

  • We will be skiiing in groups of 5, each person gets two 20 minute ski sets.
  • Lunch in the form of barbecued hamburgers, chips and sodas will be provided

    * We will provide lunch to any guests that come along for $5/ person *

This day at the lake is intended for people who have had some experience with such water sports. This will help maximize the amount of time each person spends on the lake.

We will have opportunities for first-time waterskiier and wakeboarders to recieve Instruction later in the month.

We will be skiiing with Colin, an excellent waterski coach (and former captain of the UCLA waterski team)

You will need to bring your own own :

  • towel
  • sunscreen
  • swimsuit (be sure it is SECURE....LADIES- boardshorts are suggested to wear over suit bottoms)
  • chair/ blanket to sit on
  • shore entertainment (book/ ball/game)
  • camera
  • positive, can-do attitude
  • byob
  • water
  • snacks
  • emergency money (just in case)
  • change of clothes
  • sweatshirt

Lifejackets are provided, but please feel free to bring any personal gear you wish to use

Directions to venue will be emailed 72 hrs before event, but for scheduling purposes, the lake we intend to visit is located about 25 miles outside of Bakersfield, CA

Parking cost is $7 per vehicle

Carpooling is strongly suggested... it is a loooong day of activity in the sun and you will be tired upon the return trip.

What are you waiting for? Grab some friends and come out to play at the lake!

feel free to email Diana (DeeKayBee) with any questions.

The costs of owning a boat....plus a one- time insurance cost that must be purchased for every skiier...plus equipment...plus boat driver/ coach... plus gas to tow boat... plus gas to operate boat...plus life jackets...plus docking fee... plus full day's activity EQUALS this is a GREAT deal!
