Plan:
we rent canoes or kayaks, pack ALL of our gear that we'll need the next two days, paddle Black Canyon for 2 days. We'll camp one night and get picked up the next day. NOT FOR THE FIRST TIME CAMPER. If you don't know what to pack or how to handle yourself away from the city, then this is not for you. We will not have contact with anyone else for two days. Paddling skills - we'll be on flat water so just be strong enough to get your boat moving. You'll need to be able to perform self rescue if you capsize your boat.

We will begin in Boulder City, just a short hop from Vegas and we'll end up at the Willow Beach Marina. Along the way: hot springs, slot canyons, hiking, bouldering, and campfire madness.

I am thinking April or May. I think the ideal group size would be less than 10 and more than 5.

Projected cost for rentals, launch/pick up and permits is under $100. You supply all your gear, food and water. We'll share communal gear as needed.

A few pics can be found here.

Who wanna go?

I did this last summer, it was a lot of fun but we had a lot more people. It's simple to do and you can't really get lost so the only complication with having more than 10 I think is transportation. But the guys that run the shuttles were able to handle our group no problem. Depending on the date, I'm in. (In Kentucky on Memorial day weekend)

I was rather disappointed though that none of the rock faces were bolted, and I didn't see any good crack lines.
